Journalist Yiannis Roubatis on Saturday was appointed chief of
Greece ‘s National Intelligence Service (EYP) following Prime Minister Alexis
Tsipras’ decision.
Roubatis
was born in 1948 in Ioannina and studied in the USA. He is a doctor of International
Relations at the Johns Hopkins University.
He
was Pasok’s eurodeputy from 1994-1999 and close associate to Pasok founder and
former Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou.
In
1987 he published the book “The US in Greece 1947-1967″ based on his doctoral
thesis for Johns Hopkins.
