Russia Tops The U.K.’s List Of Security Concerns
British Prime Minister David Cameron will release a list of the United Kingdom’s latest security concerns later this month. Several British press outfits have reported that Prime Minister Cameron is likely to name Russia as one of the U.K.’s most pressing concerns. In security speak, Russia is likely to be dubbed a “top-tier” possible threat to the U.K.The report makes mention of Russia, amongst other states and regions, and clearly establishes that the U.K. is worried about Russia’s recent, pointedly military, take on most international issues. The fact that Russia now features high on the U.K.’s list of security concerns is interesting, especially because the state found no mention in the last committee report, published after the 2010 National Security Strategy review was concluded.
The 2014-2015 report states, “The last five years have seen a range of international developments, ranging from the growth of radicalization and fundamentalism to growing concerns around our energy supply, and rising aggression from Russia.”
