To stay one step ahead of
cybercriminals.
To keep up with evolving attack methods, IT security teams need to stay
one step ahead of cybercriminals.
Unfortunately, more than half of IT security teams say they are not
taking basic security steps, such as patching their systems and running the
latest versions of software, according to a survey of chief information
security officers and security operations execs at 1,700 companies conducted by
Cisco.
This is particularly evident in the case of Heartbleed, a bug that enables hackers to read
encrypted data by exploiting vulnerable versions of OpenSSL software. Despite
all of the publicity surrounding Heartbleed, which was discovered last April, a
majority of OpenSSL versions are more than four years old and vulnerable to
Heartbleed, says Cisco in its 2015
Annual Security Report.
