Human trafficking has existed for thousands of years, but because of modern day technology, a resurgence has occurred at an alarming rate.
...Many believe human trafficking to be a problem outside the U.S., but it's a problem everywhere, including central Illinois.
"Human trafficking is happening in all of our communities," O'Keeffe said. "Truly, no communities are immune to this crime and that's because there are different forms of human trafficking, different forms of control."
