Augmenting human abilities
The
Pentagon is developing the technology known as exosuits for the Navy,
which is expected to implement it. The suits have been popularized
by Iron Man in books and movies, according to a new report
from the Center for New American Security.
Before 2018 the exoskeleton suit program
known as the Army’s Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit Program (TALOS)
will aim to fit soldiers who are going into combat with these
wearable suits, according to Defenseone. It notes that these suits
will likely include sensors to monitor and broadcast soldier health, and
wound-clotting foam that the armor would send into bullet wounds
to stop possible bleeding.
