FIFA scandal may affect the Palestinian motion to suspend Israel

Palestinian youths hold red cards and placards reading in Arabic: ‘Israel out of FIFA,’ during a demonstration against the Israeli Football Federation in the West Bank city of Hebron on May 28. UEFA, with a formidable 54 votes in the 209-member body, has said it will vote against the Palestinian motion. They also may enhance the chances that Israel, affiliated with FIFA since the pre-state times of 1929, will suffer the ignominy of suspension by the world body.
