Kissinger: Parade New Step in China's Historical Advancement

Former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger has said that China's grand Victory Day parade symbolizes that the nation has returned to its historic position as one of the world's leading powers.

"It sort of marks a culmination of a phase of history that China, which had been an occupied subject to intrusions from foreign countries, has not only reconstituted itself and goes back to its historic position as one of the leading powers."
The former diplomat says the parade is a tribute to China's past and an indication of the country's changes.
