Deadly shooting shakes NAU campus, but students are still expected in class

A deadly shooting has shaken the student body on Northern Arizona University’s campus in Flagstaff.
According to police, a student produced a handgun during a late-night altercation near an all-Greek dormitory and shot four others — one of them fatally. The suspected gunman, an 18-year-old freshman, is now in custody.
Students across campus were shocked by the violence, which occurred around 1:20 a.m. Friday.

One person was dead and another wounded after a shooting at a student housing complex at a Texas university Friday, police said.

University spokesman Kendrick Callis said the shooting was reported around 11:30 a.m. Friday at University Courtyard Apartments on the edge of theTexas Southern University campus. Callis said the campus was placed on lockdown and classes were canceled for the rest of the day. The lockdown was lifted Friday afternoon.
