Govt to Establish National Security Polytechnic

National Security Minister, Hon. Robert Montague (left), is in discussion with Police Commissioner, Dr. Carl Williams, at the graduation ceremony for 173 new police recruits held at the National Police College in St. Catherine on November 25.
The Government plans to establish a security polytechnic institution, which will enable security personnel to earn certification that will put them on a path for higher learning.
National Security Minister, Hon. Robert Montague, said beneficiaries will include members of the Jamaica Constabulary Fore (JCF), Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), immigration and correctional officers, and security guards.
He said the training and certification provided will empower them to invest in their own future.
He informed that the courses offered will be accredited by the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ).
“Every certificate will be assessed and accredited by the UCJ so that you can begin that process of getting your university degree,” the National Security Minister said.
