Russia’s Defense Ministry unveils amount of state defense order


Yuriy BorisovDeputy Head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Yury Borisov, announced that in 2017, over 1,4 trillion rubles will be allocated for implementation of the state defense order, Life.ru reports on Wednesday.
“The main share, more than 65% of the funds, is allocated to the procurement of modern weapons and technology. As at January 1st, the share of modern weapons and equipment in the units of constant combat readiness exceeded 58%,” Yury Borisov told reporters.
At present, a state program of armaments for 2011-2020 is being implemented in the Russian Federation. Within this program, about 20 trillion rubles are planned to be spent on modernization of the Russian Armed Forces and 3 trillion rubles more are to be allocated to technical re-equipment of defense industry.
