Britain's ex top spy warns Islamist terrorists could target the UK for another 30 YEARS and says he thinks the Russians probably tried to hack our election
Britain's former top spy has warned that Islamist jihadis could continue to try to bring bloodshed and terror to the UK's streets for another 30 years.
Jonathan Evans, the former head of MI5, said the threat is a 'generational problem' which will take decades to root out.
He said the 2005 London bombings inspired a wave of terror plots and he thinks the Westminster Bridge attack carried out earlier this year will have a similar impact.
And he said he would be surprised if the Russians had not tried to hack the UK's General Election this summer as he warned of the country's resurgent power.
Britain was hit by four terror attacks in just three months this year - killing dozens and injuring many more.
