Orbital cluster of Russia’s Aerospace Force may become basis of CIS defense doctrine
The orbital cluster of Russia’s aerospace force may at some future date be considered as the basis for a common defense doctrine of the CIS member-states, the acting deputy chief of the CIS Executive Committee Agybai Smagulov said on Tuesday.
"It is obvious today that reliable protection and defense of our borders and air space, including the Russian Aerospace Force’s orbital cluster, over-the-horizon radars and air defense missile complexes alongside resistance to international terrorism are becoming a major component of the defense doctrine," he said at a meeting of the coordinating committee for the CIS air defense affairs.
