Juggernaut of US enforcement agencies
According to research undertaken by law
firm Gibson Dunn, the typical value of a monetary
resolution in this area reached $156.6 million (£102.8 million) in 2014. This
is close to double the $80 million that was recorded in 2013 and well above the
$21.7 million figure from 2012.
Gibson Dunn revealed that since 2004,
the average value of FCPA enforcement action has only fallen below $20 million
twice. Meanwhile, some 14 cases have now exceeded the $100 million mark.
"Within the last decade, FCPA
enforcement has become a juggernaut of US enforcement agencies," the law
firm stated.
