Leaked
files show Canadian spy agency struggling with flood of data
Documents leaked by American national security
whistleblower Edward Snowden show Canada’s Communications Security
Establishment (CSE) grappling with how to protect government computers from
hackers.
The leaked file, first reported by CBC,
consists of slide show presentations made by CSE employees in 2010 that explain
how the agency collects 400,000 emails every day to scan for malware and
potential security threats.
The slides provide a rare window into how
a secretive agency is adapting to new techniques from hackers who try to access
government networks with emails to federal employees.
