Military bases in Va. limit personnel due to winter weather

 The world’s largest naval base is telling only essential personnel to report for duty.

Naval Station Norfolk is one of several military installations in Hampton Roads that have told non-essential personnel to stay home Thursday due to winter weather.

Several inches of snow were expected to fall in the region late Wednesday and into Thursday morning. On Wednesday, public tours at Naval Station Norfolk were cancelled.
