Snowzilla brings down the House

The House of Representatives will not be voting on any bills this week because of the massive snowstorm that hit the D.C. metro region this weekend.

In a memo from the House majority leader, members have been advised that due to the severity of the weather and the poor travel conditions, previously scheduled votes on Tuesday, Jan. 26 and Wednesday, Jan. 27, have been postponed. The next votes are now scheduled for Monday, Feb. 1.

More than 10,000 flights along the East Coast have been cancelled due to this weekend's winter storm, which has dumped around 2 feet of snow in and around Washington, D.C.
