Many experts in Silicon Valley have questioned President Obama’s
initiative to set up an agency to monitor cyber threats since the US is already
spending enough money on spying, says Chris Kitze, the boss of encrypted
internet services company Unseen.
The Obama administration has announced
plans to set up a new federal spy center - Cyber Threat Intelligence
Integration Center (CTIIC). It will “connect the dots between various
cyber threats so the relevant government departments and agencies are aware of
these threats in as close to real time as possible,” a senior Obama administration official
said on Tuesday, as cited by Reuters.
