Law enforcement corruption
A former FBI "spy
hunter" from Sleepy Hollow will have one extra week of freedom before he
has to surrender to federal authorities for sentencing on two separate
corruption cases.
U.S. District Judge Vincent
Briccetti on Friday granted Robert Lustyik's request to push back the date he
has to surrender from Tuesday to Feb. 23 "due to a medical condition
pertaining to Mr. Lustyik's mother-in-law," according to records on
file at federal court in White Plains.
Lustyik, 52, is scheduled to
be sentenced in Salt Lake City, Utah, on March 30 afterpleading guilty there in September to charges that he sought bribes to thwart a
federal probe into a controversial defense contractor.
