Military cybersecurity

Photo/NIST.govThe Pentagon says there is no evidence that hackers belonging to the so-called Cyber Caliphate breached Department of Defense networks after hacking Newsweek’s Twitter account this week and posting federal employee information, including staff cell phone numbers from the Defense Cyber Investigations Training Academy.

“We are reviewing specifically what happened,” Defense spokesman Col. Steve Warren told reporters at the Pentagon Wednesday. “What I can tell you with confidence is that so far we have not seen any evidence that any DoD networks were compromised.
