Police corruption
A
drug dealer who incited a crooked Melbourne police officer to access
intelligence from the force's computer network in exchange for the drug ice has
been jailed.
Dean
Andrew Murphy, 40, incited former senior constable David Branov, who was based
at Fitzroy police station, to give him the address of a man he wanted to
threaten over a soured drug deal in 2013.
Last
week, Melbourne's Country Court heard that Murphy turned up at the man's home
armed with a rifle and told his girlfriend, "I'm going to kill this c---
tonight."
The
court also heard that Branov had been paid in drugs to tip-off police
surveillance targets and hide warrants.
