Revised Prevent strategy
Terrorist hotbeds are
spreading around the UK in the wake of the Syria conflict forcing the
Government to expand counter-radicalisation programmes, it has emerged.
The lure of Isil for British
jihadists from all corners of the country has led to an increasing number of
towns and cities causing concern over Islamist extremism.
The number of areas now being
supported by the Government’s Prevent strategy, which aims to steer vulnerable
people away from radicalisation, has increased by half.
