The
case against President
Argentine prosecutors formally accused President Cristina
Fernandez de KirchnerFriday of shielding Iranian officials from
prosecution over a 1994 Jewish center bombing, renewing the firestorm around
the embattled leader.
The
accusation advances the case againstKirchner that was being pursued by late
prosecutor Alberto Nisman before he died mysteriously on the eve
of congressional hearings on his allegations.
Nisman, 51, was found in his
Buenos Aires apartment with a gunshot to the head after alleging that Kirchner had
protected high-ranking Iranian officials from prosecution over the bombing in
exchange for oil.
