International security
American foreign policy has veered wildly
between extremes over the last 14 years. We have tried and failed to remake the
world through armed intervention. We have tried and failed to ignore the
spiraling disorder in the developing world. Though we may wish to turn inward,
America is inextricably entwined in the world’s sordid affairs and will be for
the foreseeable future.
