increasing resistance to antibiotics is causing a public health crisis, but
Professor Kim Lewis and his colleagues at Northeastern University announced a
newly discovered antibiotic that eliminates pathogens without encountering any
detectable resistance. Such a finding challenges long-held scientific beliefs
and holds great promise for treating chronic infections like tuberculosis and
those caused by staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
