Integrating unmanned aircraft into national airspace

A ground-based sense-and-avoid radar system designed to identify small Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) in a specific airspace was conducted by the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi’s Lone Star Unmanned Aircraft Systems research center (LSUASC) using SRC, Inc.'s RS-16 UAS. The flight operations took place on March 4 and 6. Bob Alger, director of business development for SRC, Inc., said the equipment could be used, for example, at a package delivery hub, where many UAS … are entering the same area.
