First suspects in Nemtsov
murder identified — Federal Security Service
Head
of the Russian Security Service Alexander Bortnikov has announced that there
are suspects in the investigation into the murder of prominent Russian
opposition figure Boris Nemtsov.
"There are always some," he said in
reply to reporters' questions.
Nemtsov,
a co-leader of the RPR-Parnas party, was shot and killed on a bridge in central
Moscow at a blank-point range several hundred meters away from the Kremlin
minutes before the midnight of Friday, February 27.
The investigators are pursuing several lines of
inquiry, including a contract killing.
