Nine Arrested over Wave of Violence in Northeastern Mexico

Mexican marines on Thursday arrested nine suspected members of a criminal organization over a wave of violence in the northeastern state of Tamaulipas that left one police officer dead, officials said on Thursday.
These latest detainees are associates of four other suspects captured on Wednesday, including the purported head of the crime gang, according to the Tamaulipas Coordination Group, or GCT, which comprises federal and state security forces.
