Shares in BAE Systems take off as defence firm says could sell parts of US intelligence and security business after approaches

Blue chip aerospace specialist BAE Systems could sell off parts of its US intelligence and security business after receiving approaches for units within the division.

The British defence group said it has received ‘external interest and a number of enquiries’ but did not disclose from where and has launched a review of its Intelligence and Security divisions to look at its options.

The division includes technical, mission and IT support services which ‘predominantly serve the US government.
