A "kinky" Conservative peer prompted fears of a Government downfall over revelations he hunted for rent boys with crime lord Ronnie Kray, MI5 files hidden for 50 years reveal.

Concern over the peer deepened amid claims he was flying out to Moscow for a briefing with Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev and had been on several trips to Russia over the past decade.
