New technology helps detect breast cancer
Women in central and northern Wisconsin now have access to state-of-the-art technology to better detect breast cancer.
Last week, Marshfield Clinic unveiled what it says is the world’s first mobile molecular breast imaging unit. The unit improves detection of early cancers in women with dense breast tissue and complex mammograms.
“The specific needs of each woman will be matched to the imaging technology best suited to her,” said Dr. James Kinsella, a Marshfield Clinic radiologist. “This will benefit women as well as their health care providers, allowing a well-informed, cutting-edge and shared decision-making environment.”
