Trump: Mid East Could Be Safer With Hussein, Gaddafi, Stronger Assad

US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump exits the Manhattan Supreme Courthouse following service of jury duty in New York August 17, 2015Meanwhile, US Secretary of State John Kerry said earlier this month that the United States will increase a number of refugees it takes over the next couple of years with 85,000 people allowed in next year and over 100,000 in 2017.
“You can make the case, if you look at Libya, look at what we did there — it’s a mess — if you look at Saddam Hussein with Iraq, look what we did there — it’s a mess — it’s [Syria] going to be same thing,” Trump told NBC’s Meet the Press.
He added that Washington was helping in Syria to people who were “maybe worse than Assad.”
Libya is currently facing its worst wave of violence since the beginning of a civil war prompted by the 2011 overthrow of long-standing leader Muammar Gaddafi.
