Meet the Trumps: America's next first family
The next first lady of the United States is Slovenian-born former model Melania Trump.
Ms Trump, 46, was born Melanija Knavs in Sevnica and left Slovenia in her 20s to pursue an international modelling career.
She married Donald Trump in 2005, becoming his third wife.
Mr Trump spoke about his relationship with then new wife with Larry King in 2005: "We literally have never had an argument; forget about the word 'fight'. We never even had an argument. We just are very compatible. We get along."
Ms Trump's rousing speech in support of her husband during his presidential campaign at the Republican National Convention drew criticism for its similarity to one Michelle Obama gave at the Democratic equivalent in 2008.
