Geert Wilders cancels public appearances over security investigation
Dutch far-right leader Geert Wilders has canceled all public appearances until an investigation into a member of the police unit tasked with his security has been finalized, he said Thursday.
Dutch media on Wednesday reported that a police officer — identified as Faris K — who is part of the unit tasked with keeping Wilders safe, had been accused of leaking police information to a Moroccan criminal gang.
The officer had access to sensitive information about Wilders’ whereabouts. Authorities have launched an investigation.
