Digital forensics refers to the branch of forensic science. The technique involves obtaining, interpreting and uncovering electronic data from electronic storage devices. The objective of this process is to preserve the evidence so that it can be of use in a court of law. Any digital device is the source of data recovery for digital forensics. The evidence should be in a format so that every jury understands it and can make a correct decision to resolve the conflict. The term digital forensics was synonymous to computer forensics originally but now it has expanded to cover investigation of all devices which are capable of storing digital data.
