Russia is testing
elements of a new missile defense system, Yan Novikov, CEO of Almaz-Antei
Concern, said on Friday.
“Currently, we are carrying out field tests of
elements of a new missile defense system,” he said.
Meanwhile, he noted that the missile defense system
that was developed in the 1990s is still being used as having no analogues in
the world by a number of parameters.
In December 2014, Almaz-Antei’s designer general Pavel
Sozinov said that Russian analogues of US’s THAAD and GMD missile defense
systems would be developed in the next few years.
