Argentina’s Reformed
Intelligence Act, recently passed by Argentine Congress, orders the
dissolution of the current Intelligence Secretariat and the creation of the
Federal Intelligence Agency (AFI), within 120 days. The new rules, which underwent
some changes from the initial bill submitted by the executive branch, offers
clearer guidelines in relation to the issues of classification of information
and access to information, secret funds management and new guidelines for the
tasks of the agents.
