SIPA Arrested Five Individuals for War CrimeBosnian officials have renewed calls for the dismissal of Goran Zubac, director of the State Investigative and Protection Agency, SIPA, after the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in a first instance ruling sentenced him to a year's probation for neglecting his duties during the protests last February.
Zubac was found guilty because “during the citizens' protest on February 7, 2014, in Sarajevo...the Director of SIPA refused to extend help to the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, deliberately ignoring phone calls made by police officials and the Security Minister and persistently refusing to deploy the Special Support Unit of SIPA,” the Court ruling on Thursday said.
