'Our intelligence is not intelligent'

Leading figures have dismissed spy claims against them as rubbish, it has been reported.

This comes after the State Security Agency issued a statement, saying it was investigating claims of spying and espionage involving Public Protector Thuli Madonsela, Julius Malema and Amcu president Joseph Mathunjwa.

A grade nine pupil could see it is rubbish," Madonsela was quoted as saying by Sapa.

She said she would also ask the agency to withdraw the statement, adding that it was "interesting" that the statement came days before President Jacob Zuma's parliamentary session.
