Power of geolocation critical to missile defense, national security
In a world of three billion Internet users and two billion smartphones users – a number expected to nearly double in the future – geolocation data is proving to be an emerging linchpin in U.S. defense operations, including coordinating global missile defense.
"The dependence of everything and everyone on their geolocation – their time and place – makes what NGA does – spatio-temporal analysis – the bridge to the future of commerce, cooperation, and security," said Sue Gordon, deputy director of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency.
