The spy potential of wearable tech
A student from the IT University of Copenhagen has dedicated his Masters thesis to uncovering the hidden tracking of wearable technology.
Tony Beltramelli submitted the thesis titled 'Deep-Spying: Spying using Smartwatch and Deep Learning' last year, in order to raise awareness of the risks associated with motion sensors built into smart technology.
Through his research he has been able to demonstrate that even the random keystrokes tracked by your smartwatch could be used to analyse exactly what you're typing.
While this research is based on a smartwatch Beltramelli had full access to, it is still a warning of potential data breaches that could be lurking in the interface of your wearable technology.
