Mass evacuation in heart of London sparked by leaking FRIDGE causing chemical incident
CITY workers were forced to evacuate their offices as firefighters dealt with a “suspected chemical incident” in central London - caused by a leaking FRIDGE.
Around 100 people were seen fleeing the scene as emergency services arrived at London Wall in Moorgate just before 3pm.
The chemical was ammonia leaking from fridge in an office on the third floor, say firefighters.
Two women were treated by London Ambulance paramedics at the scene, but their injuries are unknown.
A 100-metre stretch of a busy road between Moorgate and Old Broad Street - just yards from Liverpool Street station - was cordoned off by police while they dealt with the incident.
