Inertial navigation sensor for Navy passes review

Builder's Trials
Northrop Grumman has successfully completed the preliminary design review for a new inertial navigation sensor.

The Inertial Sensor Module is a critical component of the Navy's Inertial Navigation System Replacement (INS-R), which will replace the WSN-7 system with the WSN-12, according to a Northrop Grumman news release.

"This is a critical system for both surface and subsurface platforms," said Todd Leavitt, vice president of Northrop Grumman's maritime systems division. "It took a lot of focused energy and close coordination with the Navy to achieve this milestone in only four months."
