Robots

Homeland security expert weighs in on robot use

A homeland security expert and professor at Texas A&M says law makers need to address how police can use military- like tools.
Dr. Danny Davis says he supports the Dallas police chief's decision to use a robot to take out the gunman in last weeks shooting. However, others have raised concerns, questioning the ethics behind using things like robots and drones.

Dr. Davis says creating laws and polices regarding police tools like robots need to be looked at by all levels of government.

"Making the laws and the policies so that the police are able to use those in a legal sense," said Davis. "Where they can do their job and at the same time be protected."
