Chemical and biological security
Detection of chemical hazardous agents and warfare agents is defined as the qualitative and semi-quantitative determination of the presence of an agent. Under battlefield conditions. detection in the form of early warning is the first line of protection against warfare agents. In civil environment detection is as important as in war zones and here the detectors can not give false alarms as the economic consequences would be devastating. Several kinds of detection technologies are currently in use.
