Moroccans ‘Second Least Honest People in the World,’ Study Claims

Moroccans ‘Second Least Honest People in the World,’ Study ClaimsA new British study has found that citizens who live in countries with high levels of governmental corruption, tax evasion, and fraud are more likely to be dishonest individually.
The results of the study name Morocco as the second least honest country studied.
The study, led by a team of researchers from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom, tasked a sample of 2,586 people from all over the world with privately rolling a die and reporting the outcome.
On average, the participants were 22 years old and were natives of the 23 countries considered to be representative of the 159 countries listed on their “prevalence of rule violations” index (PRV).
The PRV is an index ranking countries based on 2003 data on tax evasion, fraud, and political corruption.
The participants were told that if they rolled higher numbers on the die, they would win more money. Slightly inflating the numbers to earn a small amount of extra money was made simple for participants, the organizers said in their report.
