Syria: Russian attack helicopters annihilate IS targets
The liberation of Palmyra has been accomplished; the latest in a string of such victories where success has been built on the twin pillars of Syrian ground forces and Russian air forces co-operating to crush IS.
Those of us who have been closely following the fighting in Syria cannot avoid the unpleasant realisation that the success of Russian airstrikes has starkly illustrated just how dishonest and fraudulent the US-led coalition’s supposed air campaign against ISIS really was. Just what were those 180 allied airplanes doing all those months? Certainly not bombing IS targets.
Yet again, taxpayer’s money has been misappropriated with the cover story of fighting the good fight against Islamic terrorism.
Documentary evidence such as the footage released by the Russian Defence Ministry and reports from journalists on the ground who have witnessed the aftermath of the liberation of Palmyra make it clear – the Russians have been hammering IS hard from the air.
