Chickenpox Cases Decline across United States after Two-dose Vaccination Policy
Health experts have reported better results in fight against Chickenpox after introduction of two-dose vaccination policy. The number of cases of Chickenpox has dropped across the United States, according to a freshly released CDC report. The report has noticed an impressive 85 percent decline in chickenpox cases. The Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report released by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) informed that the biggest decline has been witnessed among children and adolescents between 5 and 14 years of age.
Before the vaccination program, nearly four million Americans would suffer from chickenpox every year. The vaccination against varicella-zoster virus was introduced in year 1996. Before the vaccination program started, nearly 11,000 – 13,500 people would end up in hospital due to varicella-zoster virus.
