The whispers of espionage and double bluffs have reportedly been enough to make three experts resign from their positions as conveners of the academic forum - with many more arguing over the alleged links.

But the public and academics need to move away from “the old John le Carré days” because in certain areas British and Russian intelligence services collaborate, a Cambridge academic and former double agent has now claimed.
