Berlin Truck Attack Suspect Killed in Shootout in Milan

A computer screen grab shows images taken from a copy of the arrest warrant for a Tunisian man identified as Anis Amri, the main suspect in the Berlin Christmas market attack that killed 12 people on Monday.The Tunisian man suspected of carrying out the truck attack on a Christmas market in Berlin has been killed in a shootout in Milan, a top Italian official said Friday.
Interior Minister Marco Minniti said that Anis Amri was stopped on foot by police patrols at around 3 a.m. during a routine check in the Sesto San Giovanni neighborhood. When the officers asked Mr. Amri for identification, he became agitated, pulled out a gun and began to shoot. The police returned fire, killing him.
The man who was killed was “without doubt” Mr. Amri, Mr. Minniti said at a press conference.
