Russian spy poisoning – cops ‘identify key suspects believed to be responsible for Skripal poisonings’ using CCTV and flight manifests
NTELLIGENCE experts are said to have pinpointed the key suspects in the attempted assassination of former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter.
Those probing the high-profile poison attack are now reportedly building a case against a hit squad believed to have fled back to Russia.
The Telegraph reports tonight it has been told there has been a major breakthrough in identifying the key people wanted in connection with the nerve agent attack.
The paper reports a trawl of passenger lists from flights in and out of the UK has highlighted "specific names" believed connected to the botched hit.
CCTV footage in Salisbury is also said to have aided the new breakthrough which comes as tensions between the UK and Russia reach a new low.
The authorities now believe retired colonel Skripal and Yulia were targeted at his home by a Kremlin-backed hit squad.
